Weather in Metro Detroit on Wednesday will be damp and foggy, with mild temperatures and a risk of snow on Thursday.
It’s cloudy in the morning on Wednesday, possibly even more so than on Tuesday. As the day progresses, temperatures will be on the milder side, rising to between 52 and 54 °. This afternoon’s severe fog advisory is in force until 1:00 p.m., but I anticipate the fog to last considerably longer. Expect a drizzly, foggy day.
We’ll experience (and hear) stronger winds overnight on Wednesday, and the arrival of a cold front will assist in clearing the area of the fog. As winter returns, lows will dip to a cold 34 degrees.
Some schools have postponed the start of the school year due to the thick fog.
It will be cooler on Thursday because the high will only be 39. Showers of rain will change to a slight possibility of snow, but accumulation is unlikely. In reality, I’m studying long – term projection. Through the middle of the month, I don’t anticipate any significant winter storms or massive Arctic blasts.
Through the end of the week and into the weekend, the weather will remain more wintry.
